Writing a Book on Mental Health: Joyce Marter

My intention for sharing my story was for readers to understand that I am human too, have loads of issues, and have made a thousand mistakes. This is normalizing and comforting for others and lets them know I am not speaking down to them as an authoritative psychotherapist, but rather as a caring expert who they can both relate to and learn from. Sharing personal stories is vulnerable but it is a way to authentically engage with your audience.
