Mental health issues can become significant concerns which is why it’s especially important for caregivers to prioritize self care and self love. Joyce Marter has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 1998 and is the Founder of Urban Balance, a counseling practice she started in 2004 and grew to over 100 therapists working from nine locations during her 13-year tenure as CEO.

She is the Chair of the Midwest Region of the American Counseling Association and Chief Brand Ambassador for Refresh Mental Health.

Marter has served as a Clinical Supervisor for therapists-in-training at Northwestern University since 2005. With a passion for applying psychology to business and leadership, Marter is a member of the National Speakers Association and an in-demand keynote speaker and corporate trainer.
