One important tip is to practice gratitude. Many of my clients keep gratitude journals as a way to focus on the positive aspects of life and the things that are going well.
Another way to stay positive is to keep things simple and avoid overcommitting. Many of us stress ourselves out by taking on too much. It’s also important to be mindful of activities that give you energy versus those that deplete it. For example, when I run or do yoga, I feel completely revitalized.
Make sure you’re getting enough fish oil, as it can help. Low vitamin D levels can lower your mood and exacerbate depression. And of course, exercise is crucial—just keep moving, and it will help you stay positive.
